    Valentine's Day History

Post by Applejack on Mon Feb 14, 2011 9:28 pm

    The Holiday
This holiday gives people a reason to love. It's about asking your secret love to the dance, or jut giving candy to your friends. It's about how we all cherish each other.

    History
    ~Valentine

Valentine was a guy who didn't like the rules of the king. The king forbade warriors to marry so they wouldn't worry about their wives. Valentine didn't like this. He secretly made marriages for couples. When the king found out, Valentine was sent to jail. People threw flowers at him to show gratitude. Thus, Valentine's Day is made.

    Fun Fact

Did you know Arizona is the Valentine state? Why you ask? Because it became a state on February 14th, that's why!

Did you know Cupid, the son of Aphrodite, Makes people fall in love with his arrows? It can be loving,or tragic. All depends on fate.

    What people do today

People give cards and candy to friends and loved ones. They play silly Valentine games such as Love Bucket.

Love bucket is where there are 3 buckets;full, half full, and empty.
The empty bucket means there is no love. The half filled means there is an unhappy marriage. The full bucket means there is a happy marriage.Of course,it's just a game.

I hope you have learned lots about this holiday, and Happy Valentine's Day.

It was the first new day of the century
    In one hundred years
When I felt like I should cry
    I laughed away my tears

    ʇı ɥʇıʍ dɹǝp

All in all, I'd rather have detention
All in all, I'd rather eat a toad
The old man drives like such a klutz
That I'm about to hurl my guts
    Directly upon the open road
