    Stoping arguements?

Post by FCSNAKE on Sun Jan 30, 2011 11:29 am

So I have been seeing that there have been alot of arguements old or recent. I was thinking why not find something to try to end them? Well my idea is sort of like a mini court lets say im arguing with BrambleFang, in my idea if anyone sees a spark of arguement they can call lets say "judgement!" and when that is callled the 2 people arguing can not have any contact with each other and they would have to go to a mini court where they will say their arguement and then like court all the mods/admins will have to chose who has the better arguement.. I still have more to think of but for now a taste of what i was thinking....
Oh and also if the people voting get caught voting for no reason at all maybe just because they are friends they will have their hp lowered 3 times or something.
If the people arguing contact each other they will lose hp..

    good idea.One flaw;

HP lowered 3 times is unfair.how about just they wont be able to vote anymore.

They would need some sort of punishments for betraying BG's, trust 3 seems fair. I was suspecting the person who would do that would be the first to disagree lol

I must agree with P4E, 3 is extremely harsh. I mean, are you gonna ban a user for voting for no reason? That seems a bit drastic.

Its voting just because your friends with them. plus even if its harsh i did say mods/admins if they would break that rule that means they cannot be trusted.
Im sure users cant be trusted in voting.

So you're saying if they vote for their friends they are reduced bye 3? Again, if you decline someone's HP by 3, they could easily get banned. So your saying that people could get banned from this site and not able to ever get on again just cus they voted for their friend? I say reduce their HP by 1 and not let them vote again sounds more reasonable.

Mods/Admins, im pretty sure they can be trusted not to break this rule thats why this shouldnt be much of a problem. If they break it, it can mean that they arent much of a moderator if they choose their friends side, it applies to other things too.
Thats why i excluded the users since im sure most cant be trustworthy voters.

We don't need to take those drastic measures for arguments. People are usually just trying to prove their point with facts for this topic or that. I'd refer to these as debates.

Of course, we can always lock topics with an argument that's going too far.

Honestly, just locking an topic that has gone into argument is probaly the beat idea like BrambleFang said.

Debate and arguing are 2 different things, yeah we are debating most of the ones i was talking about ar arguements.
Locking all the arguements was one of my ideas but that would mean locking some that could have kept BG more active....

BG could be active in other topics too, even if the popular ones were locked.

A moderator or user can just step in and try to solve the argument and that's it.

This, but some arguments can go back to the regular discussion so it won't be locked.
