The Pokemon Restriction Tournament

Welcome to the Pokemon Restriction Tournament! In this tournament, your opponent will get to choose which Pokemon you have to use for the Round and which Pokemon you will not be able to use for the rest of the tournament.

This tournament will probably be around an 8 or 16 man tournament, depending on how interested people are in this concept. Signups will also be First Come, First Serve.

Standard Rules:

* Evasion Clause - Moves that boost your evasion (such as Double Team and Minimize) are banned.
* Sleep Clause - Only one Pokemon may be asleep at a time on your team (Rest can still be used if one of your Pokemon is asleep). For example, if a Breloom used Spore on one of the opponent's Pokemon, the Breloom cannot use Spore on another Pokemon.
* Freeze Clause - Only one Pokemon may be frozen at a time on your team (Note: this rule is hard to enforce if you're playing on wi-fi)
* OHKO Clause - OHKO moves (such as Fissure and Sheer Cold) are banned.
* Self-KO Clause - If a person's last Pokemon uses a sacrificial attack (this includes Explosion, Selfdestruct, Destiny Bond, etc) on your last Pokemon and your last Pokemon faints, the the person who used the sacrificial attack loses.
* Species Clause - Only one of each kind of Pokemon is allowed on each team (for example, you are not allowed to have two Blisseys on one team).
*No Hacks - Self explanatory. If anyone is caught using hacks, they will immediately be kicked out of the tournament, no questions asked.


Other Rules:

*Before the match, your opponent will get to choose 3 Pokemon from each tier to ban you from using. These Pokemon will remain banned for you throughout the tournament. These Pokemon choices will have to be PM'd to me, where I will record them before sending the Pokemon choices to you.
*Before the match, your opponent will also be able to choose 1 Pokemon from each tier that you will have to use during your match with said opponent. These Pokemon choices will also be PM'd to me so I can make sure your opponent follows your choices.
*Before you battle, your teams must be PM'd to me so I can make sure you're following the rules.
*State whether you won or not in this thread. Your opponent must confirm their victory or loss as well. In the case of a dispute, the match must be redone OR both players will be kicked out of the tournament.

Edit:

Any Pokemon not in these lists cannot be used. This includes things such as Arceus, Giratina, Darkrai, etc. However, some legendaries aren't banned.

Battles can be done on wi-fi, but they can also be done on Pokemon simulators such as Shoddy Battle and Pokemon Online. Please note that these Pokemon simulators will make things much easier for you and your opponent, as you won't have to spend time getting your perfect Pokemon, and instead you can spend time focusing on team building. These simulators also have the ability to save the match log, so in the case of a dispute, I can simply get the log from one of the players and see who is telling the truth.

this souns fun i want to join but since i dont really care about ubers and stuff like that i dont know what OU ,UU ,NU are, i have heard anf watched battles of it but i dont whats it about..lol but ill check it out..

Well, you don't have to really know what they are actually lol. You only need to pick Pokemon that you don't want your opponent to use and Pokemon you want to force your opponent to use out of the lists. OU, UU, and NU are pretty much just determined by how much a Pokemon is used, really. Anyways, I guess I'll sign you up?

Pretty much. Every round, your opponent will pick one Pokemon out of each of the three lists. You will have to use these Pokemon against them. They will also get to pick what other Pokemon you won't be able to use in your 3 remaining spots. However, you will be able to do the same for your opponent. The idea here is to try to stop your opponent from using Pokemon that synergize well with the Pokemon you picked. For an example

Let's say I'm facing you. I look at the three lists and say you will have to use Alakazam, Medicham, and Azelf in your team. I then look at the lists again and ban you from using Scizor, Heatran, and Gyarados from the first list, Milotic, Venusaur, and Moltres from the second, and Charizard, Typhlosion and Magmotar from the third. Basically, you will have to use Alakazam, Medicham, Azelf, and three other Pokemon that I haven't banned you from using, though you can switch up the order a bit(so if I banned you from using Scizor, you can't use it for the rest of the tournament).

Edit: Like I said, they're basically only based on usage (except for BL and Ubers, which is for Pokemon that are hard to deal with in UU and OU respectively). I figured it would be a good way to force people to use the lesser used Pokemon.

Just that battle. If it was for the entire tournament, it would end up being a bit weird lol.
