    Post Layouts

    Post by Fluncher on Sat Jan 21, 2012 7:16 pm

    Before anything, make sure you have your layout code saved in Word, or some type of word document.

    You may now use post layouts on this forum.

    What is a post layout, you may ask?

    A post layout is this;

    This is a post layout.

    This is a signature.

    Now you're probably asking, how do you make a post layout?

    You can use Balrog's Layout Generator or a base code.

    Now you're wondering, what are some base codes?

    Here are some base codes.
    NOTE: Not all of the layouts will show up due to it being HTML and not CSS.

    Let's start off with something simple, a repeating background.

    Header:
    Code:
    <div style="background: url(IMAGE URL GOES HERE) repeat;">
    Signature:
    Code:
    </div>

    That was quite simple, so let's get a bit more complex. This time we'll have a background, and another box in front of that to be the table where we put our text. NOTE: There's no background due to HTML limitations on this site.

    SIGNATURE GOES HERE

    Header:
    Code:
    <div style="background: repeat #111111; padding: 20px;"><div style="background: #aaaaaa; border: 2px #ffffff solid; padding: 3px;">
    Sig:
    Code:
    </div>
    OR
    Code:
    </div><div style="background: #aaaaaa; border: 2px #ffffff solid; padding: 3px; ; margin-top: 20px;">SIGNATURE GOES HERE</div></div>

    This next one is one with your image aligned to the right. (Also known as "side image".)

    Header:
    Code:
    <div style="background: url(URL OF IMAGE YOU WANT TO ALIGN TO THE RIGHT GOES HERE) right no-repeat #112; padding: 20px; padding-right: 0px;"><div style="background: #09aaaf; border: 2px #a12dfe solid; padding: 3px; margin-right: 200px;">
    Sig:
    Code:
    </div></div>
    OR
    Code:
    </div><div style="background: #09aaaf; border: 2px #a12dfe solid; padding: 3px; margin-right: 200; margin-top: 20px;">SIGNATURE GOES HERE</div></div>

    Next, signature boxes on the side. This is relatively comprehensible, so I'll just get on with it. Also, I consider this to be where the layouts start getting a bit long. There are also a couple extra things you'll need to set for yourself if you want to have this work right, but it should all be pretty obvious when you come to it, as it's just simple changes of numbers or words.

    SIG GOES HERE

    Header:
    Code:
    <style type="text/css">table.ex1 {background: url(BACKGROUND IMAGE URL GOES HERE) center repeat; font-family: "Verdana"; color: #FFFFFF;} table.ex1 td {background-image: url(TRANSPARENT OVERLAY THING URL GOES HERE); border: 2px #000 solid; background-repeat: repeat;</style><table class="ex1" style="text-align: left; width: 100%;" cellspacing="20" height="215"><tr><td valign="top" width="75%">

    Footer:
    Code:
    </td><td valign="top" width="25%">[color=blue]SIG GOES HERE[/color]</td></tr></table>

    And finally (for now), this is for if you want a signature box on the side AND one on the bottom.
